In this design experiment, I chose to explore the spatial implications of removing one's shoes at the threshold.
Brief: Conduct a study of one habitual behavior and design a conceptual, architectural intervention to support it.
Duration: 3 weeks
Software: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Rhino, V-Ray
After identifying key moments in the progression of the habit, I developed a series of supportive rib typologies and arranged them in sequence.
Ultimately, the resulting skeletal concept is a derivation of the habit’s negative space, conforming to and supporting the body, thus encouraging balance via contact.
